Steam Achievement Unlocker: Unlock Achievements Automatically
The Achievement Unlocker is Steam Game Idler's free Steam achievement unlocker. Add games you own to a queue, and SGI unlocks their achievements over time, waiting a random, human-like delay between each one. It works with both Steam Sign-in and Local Sign-in.

How the Achievement Unlocker works
By default, SGI unlocks a game's achievements in order of global rarity, starting with the most common. After each one, it waits a random amount of time within your Settings → Achievement Unlocker → Unlock Interval range. That range can be anywhere from 1 minute to 48 hours.
While it runs, each active game shows a live countdown to its next achievement, with the next several upcoming achievements listed below it. Once the queue is empty, SGI can start Card Farming or Auto-Idle for you.
Want a different order, or exact delays for specific achievements? Use Custom Order & Unlock Delay instead of the default rarity order.
How to unlock Steam achievements automatically
Click Achievement Unlocker in the sidebar
Go to the All Games tab and click the button on individual games to add them to your queue
Optionally, you can customize the unlock order and set delays for individual achievements by following these steps
Switch to the Queue tab to review what you've added, then click Start
Make unlocks look natural
These options are in Settings → Achievement Unlocker unless noted:
- Random intervals: set a minimum and maximum wait, and SGI picks a random delay between them after every unlock.
- Unlock schedule: only unlock during a time window, such as
09:00to17:00. Outside it, the queue pauses and waits. - Idle while unlocking: keep the game running, so its playtime grows alongside its achievements.
- Skip hidden achievements: leave the ones the developer has hidden for you to discover yourself.
- Custom order and delays: set the exact order and a delay for each achievement on the Custom Order & Unlock Delay page.
- Import timings: copy the unlock order and delays from another Steam user's public profile with Import Timings.
Run several games at once
The free version works through your queue one game at a time. With Run Multiple Games At Once enabled, Pro Casual subscribers can run up to 3 games at once and Pro Gamer subscribers up to 32. Each game keeps its own schedule. Steam allows 32 games idling at once, so that limit is shared with every other idling feature.
Unlock all achievements at once
The Achievement Unlocker spreads achievements out over time. To get every achievement in a game instantly, open the game in the Achievement Manager and click Unlock All. The same page can lock them again with .
Is it safe?
Steam Game Idler is legitimate software, and tools like it have been around for more than 10 years. Historically, Steam hasn't banned accounts just for using them. SGI's full source code is public on GitHub, so you can see exactly how it talks to Steam. As with any third-party tool, use it at your own discretion. The FAQ covers more common questions.
Limitations
- Game Coordinator titles: Team Fortress 2, Dota 2, CS2, Left 4 Dead 2 and Portal 2 keep their stats on Valve's Game Coordinator, which Steam Sign-in can't reach. On Windows, use Local Sign-in for these games. On Linux they can't be managed. More in Troubleshooting.
- Server-authoritative achievements: if a game marks an achievement as set by its own server, no client can change it, SGI included.
Achievement Unlocker vs. Steam Achievement Manager
Steam Achievement Manager (SAM) works by hand: you pick achievements and they change immediately.
